Why Is OnTrackAmerica Needed?
North American rail history includes an enduring legacy of conflict among shippers, labor, communities, government, and railroads. These squabbles, turf battles, and competition for government attention have limited industry progress. OnTrackAmerica will allow the complexities and subtleties of these differences to be worked through within the context of a dynamic industry growth plan that produces benefits for all stakeholders. Instead of fighting over market share, jobs, service, and capital, stakeholders can reconceive their new roles within an expanding industry. The ever-increasing rail capacity demands of population and economic growth require an improved integration of commercial activity and governmental policy.

Traditional collaborative planning efforts most often lack the broad participation and perspective that our complex challenges now require. We can no longer limit the scope of transportation planning to a give-and-take negotiation among lobbyists and government. All concerned—vested interests included—must move beyond the limitations of narrow agendas.
There are many talented people in the public and private sectors working toward a better transportation system. It is more important than ever to empower them with new forums for productive interactions. OnTrackAmerica intends to forward the efforts of earnest stakeholders by providing leading-edge communication and collaborative tools.
In recent years, many projects and commissions have been created to address the need for regional and national transportation planning. OnTrackAmerica will be offering our communication services and tools in support of their success.
